The future of former Real Madrid wonderkid Nico Paz was a major talking point during the last few weeks of the summer transfer window, as Tottenham Hotspur pushed for a late move for the player.

Last season’s Champions League finalists Inter Milan, too, were keen on the services of Paz, who has emerged as one of the rising stars in Serie A.

However, Como’s desire to keep hold of the Argentine youngster, coupled with the special clause that Real Madrid hold for the player meant a late exit was almost impossible.

Nico Paz to Real Madrid: A done deal

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are all set to bring back Nico Paz to Santiago Bernabeu for a fee of just €10 million next summer.

Although there are no shortage of suitors for the young playmaker, Real Madrid remain calm and trust in the buy-back clauses they hold, which is coupled with the player’s own desire to return to the Bernabeu.

As per the report, Real Madrid, after conversations with Paz’s entourage, have decided to wait another year and bring the player back to the club next summer.

Paz, for his part, is more than keen on making his return to the Spanish capital. However, he is in no hurry.

The Argentine international’s priority is to become a bigger player this season so that he can become a crucial outlet in Lionel Scaloni’s offensive unit.

For now, Paz wants to continue developing at Como, playing regular minutes and strengthening his case for the 2026 World Cup with Argentina.

Madrid, meanwhile, are happy to wait. With midfield depth already high under Xabi Alonso, the club see 2026 as the perfect moment to re-integrate Nico Paz into the first-team setup.
