Real Madrid now ‘optimistic’ of midfield signing | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid are growing increasingly confident of closing a deal for Manchester City star Rodri before the summer is out.

This comes as Los Blancos prepare to ramp up their pursuit of the Spanish international over the days ahead.

The brass at the Santiago Bernabéu have of course spent recent days hard at work, to close an agreement with RB Leipzig over the signing of young winger Yan Diomandé.

With the Ivorian now considered as being in the bag, Real, in turn, are ready to turn focus towards their other leading transfer target for the remainder of the window.

After a change of heart amongst Florentino Pérez and co. owing to the level of his performances at the World Cup, Rodri’s name has been circled in red in the Bernabéu boardroom.

And with as much in mind, as per a report from ESPN:

‘Madrid are also now optimistic about their chances of signing Manchester City midfielder Rodri.’
