It is perhaps fair to say that Arda Guler has endured a topsy-turvy campaign at Real Madrid this season.
The Turkish international has not been one of the most consistent players for the team. But at the same time, he has shown glimpses of his true talent as well.
This has led to an overall uncertainty about his future at Los Blancos, especially ahead of a season where they may be more competition thanks to the return of Endrick and Nico Paz.
According to Defensa Central, Guler is entering a particularly precarious period in his Real Madrid career, with the club’s planning for next season leaving very little room for the Turkish international in the starting eleven.
The midfield picture at Valdebebas is becoming increasingly congested. Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, and Aurelien Tchouameni are all considered fixtures in Arbeloa’s setup, while Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr remain untouchable in attack.

That leaves just one spot open, and Guler is no longer the automatic candidate to fill it.
Real Madrid are actively looking to bring in a new midfielder next season – one capable of orchestrating the team’s play even under pressure. Should that signing materialise, it would almost certainly come at Guler’s expense.
The reports suggest that even a strong finish to the current campaign may not be enough to guarantee him a regular starting role. The window is narrowing, and the clock is ticking for the 20-year-old.
Thiago Pitarch finds himself in a similarly difficult position. The academy graduate has impressed when called upon, but is expected to occupy a rotation role at best, with Bellingham’s return to fitness further complicating his prospects.
