Having secured three new signings this summer, Real Madrid are also working on shielding the futures of their existing players with contract extensions.
Agreements have been reached over new deals for Raul Asencio and Vinicius Jr., likely to be made official once the FIFA Club World Cup is out of the way.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are prepared to finalise the contract renewal of veteran star Thibaut Courtois in July.
The 33-year-old Belgian shot-stopper has a contract which expires in 2026, but the decision has already been made by the club to offer him an extension.
In fact, the idea is for Real Madrid to present a two-year renewal until 2028 for Courtois – breaking the golden rule of offering only one-year extensions to players in their thirties.

As per the update from Romano, Los Blancos are already drafting the contract proposal for their first-choice goalkeeper and aim to get everything sorted by next month.
Courtois, for his part, is very happy at Real Madrid and wants to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu. As such, no issues are expected as far as the renewal talks are concerned.
Courtois joined Real Madrid in 2018, arriving from Chelsea. The Belgian international has played an integral role in the success that the Merengues have achieved in the seven seasons that he has been at the club.
And, he will hope to add more trophies to his cabinet under new manager Xabi Alonso.
