Brahim Diaz is one of few Real Madrid players who may get negatively impacted by the appointment of Xabi Alonso as new head coach.
The Moroccan international, who was a key cog in the Real Madrid setup under Carlo Ancelotti, has now found himself in a precarious spot heading into the new campaign.
The versatile attacker has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu as he is expected to fall behind the likes of Arda Guler and perhaps even Franco Mastantuono in the pecking order.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Portuguese giants SL Benfica have shown concrete interest in securing Brahim Diaz on loan.
The report suggests that the club have already contacted Real Madrid to explore the possibility of a temporary move this summer.

The 26-year-old’s versatility of being able to play both centrally and on the wing makes him an attractive proposition for the Portuguese giants.
Despite the links, Brahim Diaz has no desire to leave Real Madrid. The Moroccan international is fully committed to the club and wants to fight for his place under Xabi Alonso.
The player signed an extension in 2023, keeping him at the Bernabeu until 2027, and remains determined to prove his worth in the Spanish capital.
For Alonso, Brahim still has a role to play, though perhaps more as a rotation option than a guaranteed starter.
Interestingly, the 26-year-old is even expected to feature in Real Madrid’s opening La Liga clash against Osasuna this Tuesday, with Jude Bellingham out injured.
