According to Matteo Moretto’s report in MARCA, Real Madrid have not yet made a final decision on Dani Ceballos’ future.
It is no secret that the midfielder finds himself in a difficult situation this summer, as he is no longer seen as a key part of Xabi Alonso’s plans for the upcoming season.
During the FIFA Club World Cup, it became clear that Ceballos will have very limited opportunities under Alonso. Real Madrid’s midfield is packed with talent, and Ceballos has slipped far down the pecking order.
For this reason, the 28-year-old is now more open to a move away from the club, knowing that staying could mean a season spent mostly on the bench.

While Ceballos is willing to consider an exit, moving on from Real Madrid is proving tricky. His current salary and the club’s asking price are significant obstacles, especially for La Liga teams, as Real Madrid value Ceballos at around €20 million.
On paper, this is a reasonable fee for a player with his technical quality and experience. However, no clubs have yet shown a willingness to meet that price for a player who barely features in the starting XI.
Real Betis, Ceballos’ former club, have already reached out to his representatives. They would like to bring him back to Seville, but their valuation is between €5 million and €10 million, far below Real Madrid’s expectations.
For now, the situation remains unresolved. Real Madrid are not in a hurry to push Ceballos out, but they are also aware that he is unlikely to get regular playing time if he stays.
As the summer progresses, the club will need to decide whether to lower their demands or wait and see if a team from abroad enters the race with a better offer.
