Real Madrid’s commitment to youth development has taken another decisive step, with the club choosing to place a major bet on one of the brightest prospects emerging from La Fabrica.
According to an update from AS, the club have renewed the contract of highly rated youngster Diego Martinez, widely known within the academy as Beto, for the second time this year.
Notably, Beto had already signed a contract extension back in January, committing his future to the club until 2028.
Now, just months later, Los Blancos have gone a step further by tying him down until 2030, a clear show of trust and long-term planning.
It is said that Real Madrid believe Beto is different.
As such, the club’s strategy has increasingly focused on identifying players who stand out clearly above their peers and accelerating their development pathway.
In Beto’s case, the conviction is strong enough for the club to move quickly and decisively.
On the pitch, the numbers justify that belief. Despite playing in midfield, Beto has already scored two goals this season from a deeper position.
At Juvenil A level, the challenge has almost become too small for him, with his performances regularly setting him apart from the rest.
That progress has not gone unnoticed. Recently, Alvaro Arbeloa rewarded him with his first appearance for Real Madrid Castilla, handing him his debut in the 3–1 victory against Guadalajara.
Meanwhile, the expectations around the midfielder are only growing, as Beto is considered one of the standout figures of the 2007 generation.
Looking ahead, the plan is for Beto to become a key piece of Castilla in the 2026–27 season and this latest contract extension is directly linked to that vision.
