Real Madrid continue to invest heavily in identifying and signing the next generation of stars as seen by their recent recruitment.

Last summer, Endrick arrived from Brazil and now they have brought in Franco Mastantuono in a big-money operation from Argentina.

At the same time, Los Blancos also continue to reinforce their academy ranks with the signings of exciting young prospects such as Azzedine Ouzane, who is joining from Ajax this summer.

Real Madrid keeping a close watch on the youth Euros

As such, MARCA now reports that Real Madrid are keeping a close watch on the European Under-21 and Under-19 Championships currently underway.

Both the U-21 and U-19 tournaments, the latter with Spain as a finalist, serve as platforms to discover new talent and confirm the quality of already known names — particularly at the U21 level.

Real Madrid’s scouts have followed every detail, noting several players as potential additions for the future.

Possible targets identified

As far as the U-21 tournament is concerned, Germany’s Nick Woltemade has been a standout – scoring five of his team’s 12 goals – and has made an impression on Real Madrid.

Reports from the Merengues’ scouting team describe his performance as highly effective and consistent. Real Madrid are watching him closely, even though Gonzalo Garcia’s recent emergence has shifted the club’s thinking about reinforcing the striker position.

France’s Castello Lukeba is another player that has caught Real Madrid’s attention, which is not surprising considering that the young centre-back has been on the club’s radar for some time.

Another player receiving attention is Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera. Despite Spain’s early exit, Mosquera impressed. Real Madrid value his profile highly, especially given he has just one year left on his contract.

In the U-19 Euros, several players have caught Madrid’s attention. One is Kees Smit, the AZ Alkmaar midfielder who played a key role in Real Madrid’s elimination from the last UEFA Youth League and is now a regular starter for his first team.

Other notable talents include Spanish internationals Antonio Cordero, who recently signed for Newcastle despite interest from Madrid and Barcelona, Pablo Garcia – the Real Betis forward who likes Barça and centre-back Jon Martin of Real Sociedad.
