Earlier today, word spread that Real Madrid saw the need for a dedicated sporting director to refine their project and the direction in which they were headed.

Open circulation of such news led to rumours that the new vacancy was in response to the club’s poor long-term planning, especially in departments like midfield and the right wing.

Since then, however, Los Blancos have come out and officially denied any such development, making it clear that they are satisfied with the work of those currently in charge of the said operations.

The right strategy

As reported by Diario AS in a recent update, the Real Madrid officials believe that the current strategy is the appropriate one and that they should and will continue to operate according to the same approach at all levels.

The management is convinced that the current strategy is correct and will thus not make any changes to the club’s structure.

This means that the hierarchy will remain as it has been until this point.

As it stands, work is being carried out to determine the team’s exact needs for the upcoming season, but a final decision has neither been taken nor will be made in the coming weeks.

Instead, the final call will be made regarding the players and the manager only after the end of the season when the board will analyse the team’s performances, results, and trophies.

All signs point to Alvaro Arbeloa staying if the club wins at least one trophy this season, and they must conquer one of La Liga and the UEFA Champions League to ensure the same.

The players, meanwhile, will have their futures decided at the end of the season based on their involvement, quality, and performance.
