Real Madrid began their curtailed pre-season earlier this week as they step up preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite their best efforts, Los Blancos have been unsuccessful in getting their opening game of the season against Osasuna rescheduled. As such, they will kickoff their new La Liga campaign on August 19 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Considering that Xabi Alonso & Co. have only two weeks for pre-season, Real Madrid will be playing only one friendly – against WSG Tirol in Austria next week.
However, in order to help preparations for the players, Real Madrid have arranged a training match with CD Leganes, reports journalist Arancha Rodriguez.
The match will be played behind closed doors, meaning fans are unlikely to get a glimpse of the action as Xabi Alonso & Co. step up preparations for the new season.

It is not uncommon for Real Madrid to play training matches with other Madrilenian teams, having done so on various occasions in the past as well.
Given the cut-short pre-season, any sort of match preparation will have some benefit for Alonso and Real Madrid as they hope to kickstart the new campaign on a strong note.
The new manager already got a good look at his players during the FIFA Club World Cup earlier in the summer, and the tournament showed that there was a lot of work to be done.
With new signings Alvaro Carreras and Franco Mastantuono also joining, and some of the injured players making their way back, Alonso will hope to have his players fit, firing, and ready in time for the opener against Osasuna.
