An insight into the current mindset of Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has early this week come to the fore online.

This comes with the Brazilian fresh off another difficult experience in the colours of Los Blancos over the weekend…

Vinícius was for his part handed the captain’s armband on Saturday, as Real Madrid welcomed Sevilla to the Spanish capital for a La Liga clash.

En route to a 2-0 triumph for Xabi Alonso’s troops, however, the 25-year-old was targeted by the home crowd on several occasions.

Amid a tense situation between player and fans, jeers and whistles rained down from the stands upon Vinícius being hauled off during the game’s closing exchanges.

And as alluded to above, on Monday, an insight into the winger’s take on the ongoing criticism being aimed in his direction has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana, who reports:

‘Vinícius Jr. has acknowledged internally that he is not performing well, but at the same time, he feels singled out when few things are working well for the team.’

The Spanish festive break may well have come at a good time for club, player and supporters alike…
