Real Madrid star suffers World Cup injury | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has suffered a fitness setback whilst plying his trade on the international front.

The Blancos star in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Midfielder Tchouaméni is for his part of course currently plying his trade at the World Cup, with Didier Deschamps’ France.

Les Bleus are primed to return to action later this evening, when they lock horns with South American outfit Paraguay with a place in the competition’s quarter-finals on the line.

If the latest word stemming from the French media is anything to go by, however, then Tchouaméni looks highly unlikely to play any part.

As per a report from journalist Fabrice Hawkins, covering the situation for RMC Sport:

‘The MRI scan undergone by Aurélien Tchouaméni has revealed a minor lesion that is not serious but requires particular vigilance from the medical staff. The midfielder was injured following a contact that occurred during training this Friday. Estimated unavailability duration of 4 days. The staff will monitor his condition daily and take no risks.’
