Real Madrid star David Alaba has made his way into the sights of Turkish giants Beşiktaş with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.

This of course comes amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of the Austrian.

Stopper Alaba currently sits well down the central defensive pecking order in Spain’s capital, behind the likes of Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger and Dean Huijsen.

Added to his long-term fitness woes, the former Bayern Munich man has therefore been hotly tipped to move on in the summer, upon the expiration of his contract.

As alluded to above, though, should one of Turkish football’s leading clubs have their way, then such a transfer could be forthcoming as early as this month.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘Beşiktaş dreams of signing Alaba. AS has confirmed the Black Eagles’ interest in the Austrian defender, a fact corroborated by the club’s head of recruitment.’

Those in a position of power in Istanbul are well aware of the obstacles in their way in striking a January deal for Alaba, but are nevertheless ready to do their utmost to beat the odds.
