Real Madrid starlet departs for Real Betis | OneFootball

A member of the academy setup at Real Madrid has on Saturday departed, for one of Los Blancos’ La Liga rivals.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Jorge Oreiro as the player in question.

Oreiro, for his part, is an 18-year-old defender, who generally lines out at the heart of defence, but is also capable of taking to the pitch at right-back.

The Spaniard, a youth international with La Roja, has been on the books at Real Madrid since the summer of 2022.

And though he has long been held in altogether high regard behind the scenes at Valdebebas, Oreiro, this weekend, has agreed to an exit.

As per a report from the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, the stopper has been snapped up by Real Betis.

Oreiro is understood to have been on the wishlists of a number of English clubs, too, but in the end has opted to stay put in his home country, with Betis.

Real Madrid will maintain both a sell-on clause and ‘matching rights’ to any future offer for the youngster, as part of the deal.
