The seriousness with which Real Madrid are taking their next sporting project is quite clear with the way the Merengues have undertaken business since the end of the last season. The summer transfer window is still yet to open, but the white club has already completed the signings of several key reinforcements, who would be at the disposal of the new coach, Jose Mourinho, at the start of the next season.
Up to now, Real Madrid have already reportedly completed four new signings, i.e., Ibrahim Konate and David Silva as free-agents, Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan after paying his release clause, and Marc Cucurella from Chelsea.
Still, with several months of summer ahead of them, the Merengues do not seem to be done with their transfer business. This is quite apparent from a report from Mundo Deportivo, which claims that Los Vikingos are still looking for a new center-back, a central-midfielder, and a forward.
For the center-back role, the report claims that club has two preferred options, Tomas Araujo from Benfica and Nico Schlotterbeck from Borussia Dortmund, with the latter ahead of the former in the Merengues’ priority list.
For the midfield, the whites have three high-profile names from the Premier League in their sights, i.e., Mateus Fernandez from West Ham United, Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea, and Rodri from Manchester City. However, all three of them are going to cost quite a lot of money, and it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid would ultimately sign any of them.
Lastly, they are also looking for a forward. The Merengue side has already seen their offer for Julian Alvarez rejected by Atletico Madrid. Michael Olise is still being linked with them, despite Bayern Munich making it clear that he is not for sale.
For now, it remains to be seen how these operations would pan out, and which of these players would land at Real Madrid, as the club management looks to be driven to get the team back on track and bring more silverware to the club’s cabinet next season.
