According to an update shared by Miguel Angel Diaz on COPE, Real Madrid’s summer signing Franco Mastantuono is set to make his official debut tonight against Osasuna.
Although the 18-year-old will not be in Xabi Alonso’s starting eleven, he is expected to come off the bench at some point during the game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mastantuono has completed only four training sessions with his new teammates. Despite that, the eagerness from both the fans and the coaching staff to see him play is undeniable.
Mastantuono’s debut comes at a moment when Real Madrid need fresh attacking solutions. Jude Bellingham’s absence and Rodrygo’s uncertain situation open the door for the young Argentine to feature earlier than many might have expected.
Although Brahim Diaz looks set to start, Mastantuono is in direct competition with him for attacking minutes.

Alonso himself has already praised the youngster, saying: “Franco is going to integrate very quickly.” The manager is keen to throw him into action, showing his belief in the teenager’s readiness to handle the demands of a club like Real Madrid.
If all goes according to plan, tonight’s clash with Osasuna will see Mastantuono make his first official appearance in front of the Bernabeu faithful.
While he is set to begin on the bench, Alonso is expected to give him a few minutes on the pitch to start building his place in the team.
For a player who has already bypassed the normal steps of development at such a young age, this debut marks only the beginning of what could be a special career in Madrid.
Fans are eagerly waiting to see a glimpse of the talent that has generated so much excitement, and tonight might just provide the perfect stage.
