Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe travelled to France to join up with the national team squad despite suffering an ankle sprain against Villarreal.

France manager Didier Deschamps dismissed the issue as a minor one on Monday, although the 26-year-old forward ended up missing the training session with the squad.

Earlier today, though, reports emerged claiming that the Frenchman had practically recovered from his injury and would be remaining with the Les Bleus camp.

Mbappe absent from training again

However, now, according to journalist Melchor Ruiz of COPE, Mbappe did not train with his France teammates once again today.

As such, the Real Madrid forward is now a doubt for the national team’s upcoming fixture against Azerbaijan on Friday.

While Mbappe did arrive at the training facilities today, he did not work with the rest of the group and left shortly after signing a few autographs for fans.

Real Madrid will be monitoring the attacker’s situation very closely, considering they have a series of important fixtures lined up after the end of the ongoing international break.

The Spanish capital clubs will hope that common sense prevails and no risks are taken with Mbappe by the French NT camp by rushing him back into action for what should be a fairly easily winnable fixture on Friday.

Mbappe has been in absolutely brilliant form since the start of the season, racking up 14 goals and two assists from 10 games in all competitions for the club.

With the all-important El Clasico coming up on 26 October, Real Madrid will want their ace goalscorer to be fit and firing to face Barcelona.
