Now established as one of Morocco’s leaders at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, Brahim Díaz has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, according to SPORT.
Backed by José Mourinho, the attacking midfielder is expected to remain at the club and sign a contract extension.
Indeed, the report states that Brahim has set himself two clear objectives: help the Moroccan national team reach the World Cup semi-final and continue with Real Madrid for the 2026-27 season.
The versatile attacker has put behind him the disappointment of the Africa Cup of Nations final, where he was heavily criticized after missing a decisive penalty. He has once again become the creative leader of the national team.

With injured striker Ismail Saibiri unavailable, Morocco are relying on Brahim’s creativity and ability to operate between the lines as they attempt to upset a France side featuring stars such as Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Michael Olise
While he has not been Morocco’s main source of goals, Brahim has been instrumental as a playmaker, providing four assists during the World Cup.
Brahim’s standing at the Santiago Bernabeu has also risen significantly.
New manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep him in the squad after what has been the best season of his Real Madrid career, helped in part by injuries to players such as Rodrygo and the instability caused by managerial changes.
Although the Moroccan international scored only two goals in 42 appearances (1,680 minutes), his biggest contribution came as a creator, finishing the campaign with nine assists thanks to his vision and ability to deliver the final pass.

Despite attracting interest from both the Premier League and Serie A, with Juventus leading the chase, Brahim has no desire to leave Real Madrid.
Brahim believes that, despite competing for places in a Real Madrid squad filled with world-class talent, he has used the 2026 World Cup to demonstrate that he possesses the ability and quality to compete with the very best and establish himself as a regular starter for the club.
Defeating the France side that includes his Real Madrid teammates Aurelien Tchouameni and Mbappe would undoubtedly strengthen his case as he looks to convince Mourinho that he deserves a permanent place in the starting lineup.
