At a time when there has been a lot of chatter surrounding Real Madrid’s buyback clauses for emerging stars Nico Paz and Chema Andres, it is perhaps fair to point out that the club have such clauses for other stars as well.

One of them is Takefusa Kubo, a former Real Madrid player, who is currently plying his trade for Real Sociedad.

The Spanish giants hold a 50% transfer rights for the Japanese attacker, who is hoping to join a big club in order to fight for trophies.

Real Madrid not opposed to an exit

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are not opposed to the sale of Takefusa Kubo, should Real Sociedad receive any bids for the attacker.

It appears neither Xabi Alonso nor Florentino Perez are considering bringing him back, which is hardly surprising as the club already boast the services of several talented players.

Real Madrid, therefore, would welcome Kubo’s sale as it would translate to a sizable profit for the club.

Kubo’s contract at Sociedad includes a €60 million release clause, which, if triggered, could result in a €30 million earnings for Real Madrid.

Kubo has had a quiet season so far, having scored just one goal in 10 matches. Despite that, several English clubs have already expressed interest in the Japanese international.

But he remains one of Sociedad’s most talented players and if he can improve his performances, it won’t be surprising to see him attract bids.

As far as his Real Madrid career is concerned, Kubo hasn’t shown any openness about returning to Santiago Bernabeu either. Therefore, his potential exit from Sociedad could bode well for all parties involved.
