The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid are keen to shift two members of the club’s defensive ranks off the club’s books this summer.
That’s according to The Athletic, who point towards Ferland Mendy and David Alaba as the pair in question.
Both Mendy and Alaba of course find themselves in precarious situations in Spain’s capital at present.
This comes with the respective summer arrivals of Álvaro Carreras and Dean Huijsen having seen both stoppers tumble down the pecking order in Hansi Flick’s squad.
With both also sidelined at present amid long-term fitness problems, it should in turn come as little surprise to learn of Real Madrid opening the door to the sale of Mendy and Alaba alike.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Madrid would like to offload David Alaba and Ferland Mendy’ this summer. However, significantly, it is also noted that:
‘Both are under contract and have shown no signs of being open to an exit.’
