The future of Vinicius Jr. is going to become the main talking point at Real Madrid now that the Brazilian international has returned from the World Cup.
Vinicius was arguably Brazil’s best player even as the five-time world champions were ousted by Norway in the Round of 16.
Now, the focus shifts to his future, with the attacker’s contract at Real Madrid expires at the end of the season. He is tipped to hold crunch talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
According to Ramon Alvarez de Mon, there remains a significant gap between Real Madrid’s contract offer and Vinicius’ salary demands.

The Spanish giants are believed to have tabled an offer worth around €20 million net per season, while the Brazilian’s camp is asking for a much higher figure.
The journalist adds that the two parties are separated by €6-10 million, with no major breakthrough having been achieved so far despite ongoing discussions.
The upcoming meeting between Vinicius and Florentino Perez is expected to be decisive in determining whether both sides can move closer to an agreement.
However, there is no indication that a deal has already been reached, with negotiations instead entering a crucial phase.

Real Madrid’s stance is not based solely on the financial aspect of the negotiations.
The club remain determined not to break their established wage structure, believing that making an exception for Vinicius could create a difficult precedent for future contract renewals.
Los Blancos are already planning extensions for several other key players whose contracts run until 2029, and the hierarchy are keen to avoid upsetting the club’s salary hierarchy ahead of those negotiations.
While Perez is expected to push for an agreement when he meets Vinicius, Real Madrid are not prepared to compromise significantly on their long-term policy.
As a result, although there is still optimism that an agreement can eventually be reached, a renewal does not appear to be imminent unless both parties are willing to make concessions in the coming days.
