An insight into the plans of incoming Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso for youngster Arda Güler has this weekend been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Diario AS, and points towards the 20-year-old being in line for a leading role under Alonso’s watch next season.

Güler, for his part, is in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss campaign to date in Spain’s capital.

Though he has showcased flashes of unquestionable potential when afforded the chance, the Turk’s inexperience has culminated in limited game-time under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti.

As much has given rise to backlash on the part of the Real Madrid faithful, large sections of whom are desperate to see Güler finally flourish in a starting role.

Such fans, in turn, will no doubt be delighted to learn of the plans of the incoming Xabi Alonso for the midfield starlet.

As per a report from Diario AS, citing sources in Turkey:

‘Xabi Alonso was interested in loaning the Turkish player to Bayer Leverkusen last year, and has complete confidence in his talent.’

Güler, as a result, is expected to be afforded a prominent role by the incoming Real Madrid headmaster beginning next season.
