Real Madrid’s stance on Rodri deal revealed | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have already ruled out the potential signing of Rodri from Manchester City this summer. That’s according to The Athletic, who have this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

Midfielder Rodri has of course been hotly tipped to take his talents to Spain’s capital not only this window, but for several years now.

This comes amid an ongoing search on the part of the Bernabéu brass for a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos.

The 29-year-old, looking back to his brilliant best at the World Cup, and with just a year remaining on his Man City contract, has in turn been heavily speculated as the ideal profile for Los Blancos.

Not only that, but Rodri himself is understood to be very much open to a potential La Liga return.

It may therefore come as a surprise to learn that Florentino Pérez and co, in fact, have no interest in bringing the Ballon d’Or winner to Madrid this summer.

As per a report from The Athletic:

‘Rodri has been regularly linked with Real Madrid. He has long been open to playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the noises coming from various levels at the Spanish club could not be clearer: they have no intention of signing him.’
