Real Sociedad add two new candidates to shortlist | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have accelerated their summer rebuild, with the technical department working alongside Matarazzo to progress priority targets for next season.

According to AS, director of football Erik Bretos has added two names to the shortlist, although competition makes both pursuits complicated. The candidates are River Plate defender Lautaro Rivero and Sevilla wing-back Joaquín Martínez Gauna, known as Oso.

Rivero, a left-footed centre-back aged 22 and 1.85 metres tall, is considered for his aggression and ability on the ball. Udinese and a club in Mexico are also tracking him, and River Plate’s valuation is around 10 million euros.

Oso is viewed as an option for the left flank, appreciated in Zubieta for his versatility and running power. The 22-year-old has been one of Sevilla’s bright spots this season, and Lionel Scaloni has him on Argentina’s radar for a future call-up.

Sevilla prioritise his renewal and are actively working on a new deal, with optimism at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, though no agreement is in place.

Elsewhere, Real Sociedad have also been linked in recent days with Diogo Leite, Nino, Marco Asensio and Niclas Füllkrug.
