Chelsea captain Reece James has committed his future to the club, signing a new deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2032.
The 26-year-old, a product of Chelsea’s academy, has been with the Blues since his earliest training days, apart from a loan spell at Wigan in 2018/19.
James made his first-team debut in September 2019 and has since established himself as a key figure for the London side. Over his Chelsea career, he has made 225 appearances and has started 19 of 26 Premier League matches this season alone.
The England international’s new contract extends well beyond his previous deal, which was set to run until 2028.
Throughout his time at Stamford Bridge, James has enjoyed considerable success. He has lifted the Champions League in 2021, the UEFA Super Cup later that year, the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2025, and the FIFA Club World Cup, while captaining the team for the past three years.
