The referees’ committee has backed the two disputed handball penalties awarded against Athletic in Mallorca, endorsing the on-field decisions and the VAR intervention.
According to El Correo, the Comité Técnico de Árbitros judged the decisions appropriate after reviewing the incidents.

Both calls provoked protests from Athletic, who challenged the handball rulings during the match in Mallorca.
The committee expressed support for referee José Luis Guzmán Mansilla and for the VAR officials involved in the reviews.
Its conclusion addressed both incidents and reaffirmed the interpretation that was applied on the day.
