Régis Le Bris recalls Nilson Angulo as Sunderland tweak XI for Everton | OneFootball

Régis Le Bris has made one change for Sunderland’s trip to Everton on Sunday, recalling Nilson Angulo to the starting XI. The winger replaces Chemsdine Talbi, his first start since a hamstring injury in March.

According to Sunderland Echo, Angulo returned from the bench at Manchester United last week and now operates on the left, his preferred side, having largely featured on the right since January.

Trai Hume keeps his place on the right of midfield, with Lutsharel Geertruida continuing at right back. Bertrand Traoré is not restored to the squad, while Jocelin Ta Bi remains among the substitutes.

Speaking on Thursday, Le Bris said he was pleased with Traoré’s training progress but that his recovery had been less straightforward than Angulo’s and Ta Bi’s. As it was a knee re-injury and new for the player, he felt a cautious approach was necessary, adding that this week had been far more consistent.

Roefs starts in goal, with Geertruida, Mukiele, Alderete and Reinildo in defence. Xhaka, Sadiki and Le Fee are in midfield, with Hume and Angulo supporting Brobbey.

Ellborg, Cirkin, O’Nien, Mayenda, Isidor, Talbi, Ta Bi, Diarra and Rigg are on the bench.
