Barcelona fans can breathe a sigh of relief as recent medical tests have confirmed that star striker Robert Lewandowski has not suffered a serious injury, according to AS.

The veteran forward had caused concern among the Blaugrana faithful following a worrying incident during Poland’s UEFA Nations League game against Croatia on Tuesday.

The alarm bells started ringing when Lewandowski’s national team coach, Michal Probierz, revealed that the player had been benched for the game due to a minor injury.

However, the real scare came in the second half when Lewandowski, having entered the game as a substitute, received a brutal kick to his shin from the Croatian goalkeeper.

The striker’s visible pain on the field and noticeable limp after the match had fans fearing the worst, despite Lewandowski’s attempt to reassure supporters by stating, “The leg is OK.”

Barcelona officials were understandably apprehensive, but this afternoon has brought welcome news. Medical tests have revealed that Lewandowski has only suffered a strong bruise on his right shin.

Barcelona expect the 36-year-old to recover within 24 to 48 hours, meaning his participation in Sunday’s match against Sevilla is not in jeopardy.

In fact, it is claimed that Lewandowski is already walking normally with hardly any signs of a limp.

This news comes as a significant relief for Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, who will now be able to count on his top scorer. Lewandowski has been in impressive form, netting twelve goals in eleven matches so far this season.
