Report: Chelsea contact representatives of €50m rated ace, PSG and Man United interested

Chelsea are among the clubs showing interest in Werder Bremen centre back Karim Coulibaly according to reports.

The Blues were very quiet in January, but that’s not expected to be the case this summer with a number of positions needing to be addressed.

Chelsea are said to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst they are thought to want to add another midfielder and attacker.

Chelsea interested in Karim Coulibaly

The Blues lost Levi Colwill to an ACL injury before the start of the season, and have paid the price for not signing a replacement.

Chelsea failed in their pursuit of Jeremy Jacquet in the January window, with the Frenchman opting to join Liverpool.

Liam Rosenior’s side have been plagued by defensive issues, with a number of poor individual errors being made costing the team goals.

A centre back needs to be top of the shopping list this summer, and Chelsea have already been linked with Nottingham Forest’s Murillo.

However, Sky Sports Germany have reported the Blues are interested in 18-year-old Coulibaly and have been impressed by his development.

The report adds Chelsea have already made contact with his representatives, but there’s been no talks between the clubs.

Sky Germany state Real Madrid, PSG, Newcastle, Manchester United and Napoli have all scouted the teenager, with Werder Bremen said to want €40-€50m for the teenager.

Chelsea have previously been linked with Coulibaly, who’s under contract until 2029, and has made 22 appearances this season.
