With Xabi Alonso now installed as their new manager, the Blues face a critical summer with reinforcements required in several areas of the squad.
Chelsea are said to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst it’s thought they want to add another midfielder and attacker.
Alonso will reportedly have a say in transfers, and co-owner Behdad Eghbali has said the youth focused model will be tweaked this summer.
It’s believed Chelsea will look to target starting quality players and those with proven Premier League experience.
The Blues have been linked with Morgan Rogers, and according to Spanish publication Marca there’s another name on their radar.
They report Chelsea are interested in Silva, who’s available on a free this summer, with Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid also interested.
Silva would give Chelsea quality, leadership, experience and winning mentality, all things which are lacking in the current squad.
The 31 year-old has scored 77 goals and registered 76 assists in his 459 games for City, and will play his final game for the club against Aston Villa on Sunday.
