Cristian Chivu could ring a comprehensive formational change at Inter Milan to reinvigorate the fallen giants against CF Monterrey.
Per Corriere della Serra via FCInterNews, the 44-year-old will not stubbornly stick to Inter’s trademark 3-5-2 set-up.
Indeed, the 20-time Italian champions have become synonymous with this formation over the years.
First, Antonio Conte introduced this system en route to Inter’s 20th Scudetto in 2020/21.
Then, Simone Inzaghi built on Conte’s foundation, using the 3-5-2 to guide Inter to multiple trophies.
However, changes are on the horizon.

Inter will take on Monterrey in their opening FIFA Club World Cup fixture tonight without several starters.
Hakan Calhanoglu and Yann Bisseck headline the list of absentees.
Yet, new arrivals Luis Henrique and Petar Sucic are available for selection.
Moreover, both players are tactically versatile and can cover a multitude of roles across the pitch.
Therefore, Chivu considers straying away from the usual set-up.
Indeed, tactical flexibility could define the next chapter at the club.
The Romanian is eager to add a note of unpredictability to his Inter side, something they desperately lacked under Inzaghi.
