Francesco Acerbi will reportedly be part of the Inter Milan squad for tomorrow’s Serie A home match against Bologna.
According to FCInterNews, Acerbi completed the ‘entire’ training session with the team earlier today.
Therefore, he’ll be at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal for the first time since November.
He suffered a muscle injury in a 5-0 rout of Hellas Verona two months ago and has since been on the treatment table.
But, the 36-year-old is ready to return to action.
The same goes for Benjamin Pavard. Indeed, the Frenchman is the front-runner to replace Yann Bisseck tomorrow.
Despite being in his twilight years, Acerbi has been one of Inter’s most dependable defenders.
He had been Inzaghi’s first choice before succumbing to a long-term injury.
Yet, Stefan de Vrij has excelled in his absence, convincing the Inter manager to reconsider his options.
Nonetheless, Acerbi’s recovery is encouraging, particularly amid a growing injury crisis at Giuseppe Meazza.
Indeed, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be on the field tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Davide Frattesi isn’t 100% fit amid talks he’s pushing for a move to Roma.
Therefore, Piotr Zielinski will likely team up with Nicolo Barella and Kristjan Asllani in the engine room.
