Inter Milan are reportedly thinking of joining the race for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Swiss international wants to leave Leverkusen, and would cost €12 million.
The Gazzetta dello Sport report that midfielder Granit Xhaka is set to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
The 32-year-old has come to the end of his second season with the Bundesliga club. He joined from Arsenal in the summer of 2023.
Xhaka played a key role in Leverkusen’s undefeated Bundesliga title triumph in his first season at the club.
However, the departure of Xabi Alonso as coach has convinced Xhaka that it is time for him to leave the BayArena.

Now, the question is where Granit Xhaka will go next.
As the Gazzetta report, there is significant interest in the Swiss international from the Saudi Pro League.
However, at the same time, clubs in Serie A are also taking notice.
AC Milan and Juventus have already shown an interest in Xhaka’s signature. But they’re not the only one.
According to the Gazzetta, Inter are also considering a move.
The Nerazzurri are still preparing for the possibility of losing Hakan Calhanoglu this summer. They would accept an offer of €25-30 million from Galtasaray.
Whilst Inter’s priority is to sign younger players, they could consider Xhaka as a reliable, affordable stopgap solution to replace Calhanoglu.
After all, Inter’s reported top target to replace the Turk, Atalanta’s Ederson, would cost €60 million.
On the other hand, Inter would only have to invest around €12 million in signing Xhaka, reports the Gazzetta.
