Serie A leaders Inter Milan have decided to activate a buyout clause in their loan agreement with Manchester City for Manuel Akanji.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the San Siro giants have already made up their mind.
Manuel Akanji joined the Nerazzurri on deadline day and has quickly become a regular starter.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu has heavily relied on the 30-year-old’s experience and defensive prowess this season.
For context, the former Borussia Dortmund star has made 19 competitive appearances, starting in 13 of Inter’s 16 Serie A matches.

Inter’s Scudetto triumph would automatically activate the clause, forcing the club to buy Akanji for €15 million.
With the Nerazzurri leading the way in Serie A, this remains a genuine possibility.
However, even if Chivu’s charges fall short in their title pursuit, Akanji will stay at San Siro beyond the summer.
Indeed, the 20-time Italian champions consider the Swiss center-back vital to their project and will sign him permanently in June.
