Inter Milan have reportedly resumed their interest in young Newell’s Old Boys winger Mateo Silvetti this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of the Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could sign the 19-year-old for their Under-23 team.
A few months ago, Inter had reportedly been in talks to sign two Newell’s Old Boys players.
Teenage midfielder Tomas Perez had been on the Nerazzurri’s radar. As had been winger Mateo Silvetti.
The talks between Inter and Newell’s were reportedly at a very advanced stage. However, the negotiations collapsed before Inter could actually sign either of the two young Argentines.
According to the Corriere della Sera, however, winger Silvetti never really fell off of Inter’s radar.
On the contrary, the newspaper report, the Nerazzurri continue to see the teenager as a target.
The Corriere della Sera report that Inter are moving to try and sign Silvetti this summer.
The Argentine could have a role in Inter’s senior team. The Nerazzurri are looking for versatility in attack as they transition to a 3-4-2-1 system under Cristian Chivu.
However, the Corriere della Sera note, Silvetti could also have a role in Inter’s new Under-23 team.
