Inter Milan have identified Serie A rising star Marco Palestra as a perfect long-term replacement for Denzel Dumfries.

According to L’Interista, the Nerazzurri will do everything to sign the Italian prodigy if they fail to hold onto the Dutch wingback.

Denzel Dumfries could end his five-year association with Inter Milan in the summer.

Indeed, there’s a €25 million release clause in the 29-year-old’s contract that will come into effect in July.

Furthermore, such a modest figure is likely to attract interest from abroad, with several Premier League clubs already vying for the Dutchman’s signature.

However, Inter are trying to extend Dumfries’ contract and remove the clause. Moreover, they’ve already submitted their offer to the player’s agent.

Inter are ready to increase Dumfries’ salary to €5 million net per season to convince him to sign a new deal.

However, the player’s agent has yet to respond to Inter’s proposal.

Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu’s men have already earmarked Marco Palestra as Dumfries’ long-term successor.

Still, aware of the 21-year-old’s potential, Atalanta have slapped a stratospheric €40 million price tag on their sought-after starlet.

Additionally, La Dea have no interest in lowering their demands.
