Report – Inter Renew Interest in PSV Eindhoven Veteran | OneFootball

Serie A champions Inter have reportedly reignited their interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Ivan Perisic. According to Calciomercato, Beppe Marotta views the 37-year-old as a cost-effective signing to reinforce the right wing.

Perisic spent seven years at Giuseppe Meazza between 2015 and 2022 before joining Tottenham Hotspur. Therefore, he’s familiar with the setting, and with just one year left to run on his contract in Eindhoven, Inter are looking to bring him back to Serie A.

Despite being in the autumn of his career, Perisic reaffirmed his credentials at this summer’s World Cup.

He started each of Croatia’s four matches at the tournament, registering a goal and an assist. Furthermore, he excelled at PSV last term, racking up ten goals and 16 assists across 43 appearances in all competitions.

With Inter frantically searching for a top player to replace Denzel Dumfries, Perisic has emerged as a low-risk option. Though he’s close to hanging up his boots, he’s capable of making an immediate impact.

After missing out on Marco Palestra, Inter have reportedly identified Djed Spence as Dumfries’ successor. However, Tottenham are not interested in selling their star, forcing Marotta to expand his search.

Perisic would be a short-term solution for Inter, but his return would make sense from a financial standpoint. Indeed, the Nerazzurri can lure him back to Serie A for only €1 million.

It’s also worth noting that Spence’s potential arrival would not rule out the Croatian veteran’s return. Perisic’s versatility allows him to operate on either flank or further forward, making him a valuable asset.
