Milan outcast Yunus Musah could reportedly join Lazio on a season-long loan with an option to buy after being cast out by Ruben Amorim. According to Calciomercato, the Biancocelesti are weighing up a formal offer for the United States international.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Atalanta. However, after failing to secure regular first-team football in Bergamo, La Dea refused to trigger the buyout clause. As such, Musah has returned to San Siro, but Milan are already looking to send him elsewhere.

He made only five Serie A starts last season, and it’s unsurprising that Mauricio Pochettino omitted him from his World Cup squad. Keen to revive his faltering career, Musah, who has fallen out of favor at Milan, is eager to start a new chapter, and Lazio could come to his rescue.

Lazio keen on Milan misfit

With two years left to run on his contract, Milan could still recoup the €18 million they paid Valencia to sign Musah in 2023. Unfortunately, Musah’s skills are not exactly in high demand at the moment. Therefore, another loan deal appears far more likely.

Lazio may be willing to shell out €2 million to secure the USMNT midfielder’s services for a year. The proposed deal would include a purchase option worth around €18 million, which would automatically become an obligation if they qualify for European competition.

It’s understood that new Lazio boss Gennaro Gattuso keeps Musah in high esteem. His long-standing ties with Milan could also help facilitate negotiations, especially considering the Rossoneri are unwilling to stand in the player’s way.
