Liverpool have been handed a timely boost with Stefan Bajcetic nearing full fitness after a difficult spell out injured. According to the Daily Mail, the 20-year-old midfielder is back in light training and could soon be involved in competitive action.
Bajcetic underwent hamstring surgery in May and has been carefully managed by the club’s medical team ever since, missing the pre-season tour of Asia. Confidential understands he could get game-time with Liverpool’s Under-21s in the coming weeks as he steps up his rehabilitation.
Manager Arne Slot has made it clear he sees Bajcetic as part of his plans. Despite interest from across Europe, particularly from Celta Vigo, the Dutchman requested that the player remain on Merseyside this season. His belief in Bajcetic’s potential is a sign of the trust being placed in Liverpool’s younger talent.

Still only 20, Bajcetic could feature for Rob Page’s Under-21 side, who face Manchester United next Sunday. If he comes through unscathed, a return to the senior squad could follow as Liverpool look to reinforce their midfield options.
This is a hugely positive update. Bajcetic’s emergence two seasons ago was one of the few bright spots in a difficult campaign and many supporters see him as a cornerstone of the club’s midfield future. His maturity on the ball, positional intelligence and composure beyond his years give Liverpool an extra layer of control in midfield when he plays.
The long injury lay-off has been frustrating for both player and fans, but Liverpool’s cautious approach has been the right one. The club are clearly determined to avoid rushing him back and risking another setback. His potential involvement with the Under-21s is a smart step to build confidence and match sharpness before exposing him to the intensity of Premier League football again.
Supporters will be eager to see how he fits into Arne Slot’s system, which demands energy and tactical discipline. If Bajcetic can regain the form he showed before his injury, Liverpool’s midfield could become one of the most balanced in the league. The thought of him lining up alongside the club’s summer signings will excite fans as they look to challenge on all fronts this season.
