According to a report this morning, there was only one Chelsea player who went around to clap the fans at Stamford Bridge last night after his sides 5-0 win over Barrow.

The Blues knocked the League Two side out of the League Cup third round at home with a convincing and comfortable victory with their second string side. As we know though, Chelsea’s second string side also has a lot of quality and in the end, it was just a tale of two very different sides in terms of quality and levels.

Enzo Maresca would have been pleased with his fringe players, and he even handed some minutes to a couple of players who looked dead set to be leaving the club in the summer but ended up staying.

Both Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka came on as subs, with Chilwell coming on to a standing ovation from the Stamford Bridge faithful at half time.

According to London World, Chilwell then went around at the end of the game clapping all corners of the stadium.

The report says Ben Chilwell was the only Chelsea player who stayed behind to go around and applaud the home fans at Stamford Bridge last night.

Although personally I saw some videos on this, and whilst it was just Chilwell who was the one going wide and right around all the stands to clap, the rest of the players were also seen clapping, but they just didn’t move much from the middle of the pitch. So I don’t think this is all bad at all to be honest.
