Raheem Sterling still prefers to remain in London, but can leave Chelsea if a resolution is found which suits all parties according to reports.
Sterling failed to secure a move away in the summer, despite reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs.
The 30-year-old hasn’t played since last season, where he had a disappointing loan spell in north London with Arsenal.
Sterling is part of the infamous “bomb” squad and has been training away from the first team, which will continue to be the case until he leaves the club.
With the January window fast approaching Chelsea will be desperately hoping to find a solution for Sterling, and to get his reported wages of in excess of £300,000 per week of the books.

The Standard have reported that Sterling’s preference is still to remain in London, and he can leave if a resolution which suits all parties is found.
How likely that is remains to be seen, and in any case a departure in January will more than likely be a loan, with a permanent resolution to be found in the summer.
Sterling will have a year left on his contract come the end of the season, and one option could be to come to an agreement to terminate the final year of his deal and allow him to leave on a free.
Axel Disasi is the other member of the bomb squad, but unlike Sterling, the Frenchman is attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Disasi can’t go on loan to a team outside the UK as Chelsea have filled their international loan quota, but he’s attracted interest from Roma, Lyon and Paris FC.
