Report reveals more details about Lamine Yamal’s new contract with Barcelona | OneFootball

With the 2024-25 season already over, FC Barcelona are now free to put all their energies on readying the team for the next season. In this regard, the Catalans are already planning their moves for the summer transfer window and have also completed some of their pending tasks.

One such pending task that the Blaugranes wanted to complete with the highest urgency was the signing of a renewal for the young winger Lamine Yamal. This task has already been completed, and the Spanish forward recently signed a new contract till 2031.

Now, a report by MARCA has revealed some of the main highlights of this new contract that can make the 17-year-old winger the highest-paid player in the squad, if he meets the conditions set out in his contract.

This new contract is quite a complex one. Yamal would get a fixed salary of €10 million and a signing bonus of €25 million for a contract spread over six years. He is also promised a significant amount in bonuses, which can bring his salary on par with some of the highest earners in the Blaugrana squad, like Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Pole’s salary will be reduced from €32 million to €26 million next year. Thus, although he will earn significantly more in fixed wages, Yamal’s earnings can surpass those of Lewandowski with the signing bonus and other bonuses. Similarly, the Dutch midfielder will earn €22 million gross and another €2 million in bonuses.

Another feature of this new contract is the promise of a revision in two years’ time, even though this contract goes on for six years. In two years, the two parties will review the objectives met by the player and the team, and then update his wages and bonuses once again.
