Tuesday’s reports claim that Milan and Roma will honour an informal agreement surrounding Tammy Abraham and Alexis Saelemaekers, who are both out on loan from one club to the other, despite ongoing doubts about the management structure for both sides.

At the end of the summer transfer window, Abraham joined Milan on loan from Roma, while Saelemaekers joined Roma on loan from Milan. Both players moved on straight loan deals without formal buy options included in either deal.

Despite the fact that there is no formal agreement for either player to be bought or sold permanently, Tuesday’s reports from Corriere dello Sport claims that there was an informal agreement last summer that both moves would be made permanent.

Tuesday’s report claims that that is still likely to be the case, despite the fact that neither side have formally decided upon their head coach for 2025-26. Milan have also not yet secured a sporting director, although reports earlier in the week suggest that Igli Tare is the leading candidate for that role.

Tuesday’s report claims that Abraham was valued in the region of €25m by Roma at the time of his loan deal given the €40m they spent to sign him from Chelsea in the summer of 2021.

Saelemaekers, meanwhile, was valued in the region of €15m, although his market value may have increased after a series of strong performances in 2024-25.

If Milan and Roma were to stick by those original valuations, and if the deals are to be made permanent, then Roma would effectively raise around €10m by swapping Abraham for Saelemaekers.
