Inter Milan are willing to part ways with Olympique Marseille transfer target Valentin Carboni this summer, but only on a permanent basis.

The 19-year-old is one of the brightest names to emerge from the club’s youth ranks in recent years.

The attacking midfielder impressed during his loan spell at Monza last season. This earned him a call-up to Argentina’s Copa America squad.

But despite his great promise, the Italian champions have pinpointed him as a possible sacrificial lamb to appease the balance sheet.

The Nerazzurri can only finance their transfer dealings by selling some of their own. Nevertheless, Simone Inzaghi would like to maintain the core of his squad intact. Hence, offloading youngsters could be the ultimate solution for the management.

Carboni has been linked with the likes of Lazio and Fiorentina earlier. But in recent weeks, Marseille surfaced as the youngster’s most keen admirer.

The Southern French club has recently appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach, and the Italian is apparently a fan of the Inter teenager.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the hierarchy is willing to do business with OM, but another loan move is out of the question.

As the pink newspaper explains, Inter would only let Carboni leave on a permanent transfer.

Moreover, the Argentina international would command at least 30 million euros as a transfer fee.

This figure would help the Nerazzurri unblock their market, allowing them to pursue their targets.

That could include signing a new defender, with Alessandro Buongiorno’s name returning in fashion in the last 24 hours.

Nevertheless, Inter must be quick about it, as the Torino defender is close to reaching an agreement to join Napoli.
