The RFEF disciplinary judge has imposed severe sanctions after Servigroup Peñíscola’s match against Noia Portus Apostoli, following a mass brawl after the final whistle.

The federation announced that the punishments were decided on Thursday after matchday 18 of the Primera División at the Juan Vizcarro on Tuesday night ended 1-6 to the visitors.

Tensions had risen when Elías was sent off for a kick on Ismael before the break. After the handshakes, a scuffle escalated into punches and kicks, and the referee’s report says two people came from the stands to attack a visiting player.

Juan José Moreno López, Juanico, was banned for 12 matches for repeatedly punching Tiago Macedo with unusual aggression. With 10 league games left, the suspension covers this season and the first two of the next unless Peñíscola reach the play-offs.

Pivot Juan Carlos Sánchez Colchón, Juanqui, received eight matches for throwing two punches and striking at least one rival. Goalkeeper Gio González was given four for attempted aggression, the report noted a kick on Macedo but did not clearly define the conduct or its gravity.

Diego Sancho was not sanctioned because the initial punch could not be attributed to him or Juanqui. Peñíscola were fined €12,000 and warned that the Juan Vizcarro could be closed after spectators entered the court and assaulted a player.

The club will pursue legal action against those responsible. Noia’s Tiago Macedo was also banned for eight matches for kicking Sancho before he was then attacked by several Peñíscola players.
