According to a report in Bild via the Metro Liverpool are among a host of clubs interested in Kennet Eichhorn.

The German youth international is only 16-years-old but he has been a regular for Hertha this season, playing eight matches in the 2.Bundesliga.

A very technically gifted midfielder, Eichhorn has been likened to Toni Kroos, with many in Germany believing he could be the next big thing to come out of the country.

Born in 2009, Eichhorn has stood out for his passing range and his ability to dictate the game from a deep lying midfield role.

He also has a lot of energy and capable of covering a lot of ground which is something that is going to appeal to Liverpool scouts, who are aware how important this is in Slot's style of play.

Unfortunately for Liverpool though they are going to have to wait to bring him to the club. With England no longer part of the EU, players from Europe cannot make the move to the Reds at 16-years-old, like Stefan Bajcetic did for example.

There's no freedom of movement like there was in the EU which enabled youngsters who turned 16 to join the club, and this means Liverpool can only sign Eichhorn when he turns 18-years-old.

Of course, they can come to a pre-agreement with the midfielder and Hertha before then. But ultimately, Eichhorn will only be able to officially join Liverpool in the summer of 2027.

It's in situations like this that a multi-club model could come in very handy. Someone like Chelsea for example who are owned by BlueCo, and have Strasbourg in France as part of their portfolio could easily snap him up and bring him to the Ligue 1 side, where they can develop him in the way they see best.

Liverpool don't have this advantage yet. Michael Edwards is working on it though.
