Robert Lewandowski sends message to Barcelona over his future | OneFootball

Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski recently sent a message to the club’s board, regarding his future beyond next summer.

The message in question? I want to stay.

Frontman Lewandowski is as things stand of course primed to depart Catalunya’s capital upon the close of the campaign.

This comes as the veteran goalscorer inches towards the close of his contract terms.

Set to turn 38 next year, the widespread expectation is that Lewandowski will in turn be allowed to depart on a free transfer.

But if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then the Pole himself does not yet appear to have given up hope of staying put for another year.

As per a report from Fichajes:

‘He has already conveyed to FC Barcelona’s sporting management his desire to extend his contract for one year, with an option for another depending on his performance.’

Any such deal would come with what is labelled as a ‘significant financial sacrifice’ on Lewandowski’s part.
