Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly asked the club to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
They need reinforcements ahead of next season, and their Italian boss views him as a dream target.
However, luring Guimaraes away from St James Park could be tricky as he is a key player under Newcastle manager Eddie Howe.

Spurs want a new midfielder after opting against activating their option to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha following his loan spell.
De Zerbi wants Guimaraes to replace him, and it will be intriguing to see if Tottenham can get a deal over the line.
The 28-year-old Brazilian international ended the season with nine goals and six assists in 29 Premier League games. He created 45 chances during the campaign.
Guimaraes was involved in 35 league goals across the previous three seasons.
Only four players have registered five or more goals and assists in the Premier League across each of the past three seasons, and it is clear to see why De Zerbi wants him at Tottenham.
Guimaraes could be open to leaving Newcastle this summer, but it is unclear whether joining Spurs would appeal to him. The Brazilian could prefer playing for a Champions League club.
Tottenham are eyeing a major squad rebuild this summer, but will need to work hard to convince some of their top targets to join them.
