Roberto Martinez is in advanced talks to become Al-Nassr head coach after the 2026 World Cup, reuniting with Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, A Bola reports.

The Portugal boss is expected to end his international tenure when the tournament finishes, and would replace Jorge Jesus in Riyadh.

Discussions are understood to have begun before the World Cup. With his FPF contract nearing expiry, the former Everton and Belgium manager is weighing a first club return since 2016.

A move would place him alongside several familiar Portugal faces, most notably the 41-year-old Ronaldo. Joao Felix is also at Al-Nassr, strengthening the Portuguese contingent.

The speculation comes amid pressure at the finals, where Portugal opened with a disappointing 1-1 draw against DR Congo.

As Martinez prepares for his exit, the FPF are being linked with successors. Jesus has been touted as a likely candidate to lead the Selecao after the World Cup in North America.
