Roberts earns Birmingham a point after Vipotnik strike

Swansea City 1-1 Birmingham City in the Championship, a result that lifts Swansea from 17th to 16th.

Zan Vipotnik put Swansea ahead in the 21st minute, finishing after Gonçalo Franco's threaded pass opened the visiting defence.

James Beadle kept Birmingham in it, saving from Ethan Galbraith (50.), before Ronald Pereira Martins rattled the crossbar (56.) as the hosts pressed for a second.

After Jay Stansfield's introduction (56.), Birmingham found a route back and Patrick Roberts levelled (72.), guiding Marvin Ducksch's pass into the bottom corner.

Play was briefly paused for treatment to Jay Fulton shortly before the equaliser, and later Liam Cullen struck the bar as Swansea searched for a winner (80.).

Swansea City tallied 19 attempts with four on target. Birmingham registered 12 attempts and worked the goalkeeper once.

Next, Swansea host Blackburn. Birmingham visit Sheffield Wednesday.
